Work hard to play hard

Can I start out by saying that my mom is amazing? These past couple of days, she has lead a charge of boys in hauling the wood in for the winter, and has been running a chain saw like nobody's business. This has taken a huge load off of the guys and the large "To Do List" that I wrote about yesterday.
Anyway, while Caleb and Zach were working at the pig barn yesterday, mom and the remaining boys of hers, worked on splitting some of the logs that had been brought in from the bush a couple of days earlier.
I snapped some pictures, because I had a moment, and golly... I was so proud of how the little champs were working so hard!
From the youngest to the oldest, we are working hard so we can escape and vacation for a couple of weeks. :)
Anyway, without further ado (and further gushing...), pictures.

*After I finished writing this post yesterday, mom comes in and says "Well, I did it, I squished my thumb in the log splitter.". She ended up going to the emergency and found that she broke her thumb. So if y'all could pray that she doesn't have to much pain, and that it heals quickly, that would be great!

Thanksgiving Vlog

Hey all! The promised two post a week hasn't been happening because... WE ARE LEAVING FOR A TRIP SOUTH IN A WEEK-ISH, AHHHH!! And we still have a LOT of fall work to finish yet. :)
Currently, our "To do list" includes...
  • Getting wood for the winter (Which mom and the boys have been working on for the past couple of days. (Picture post to come))
  • Building the shell of an addition to Josh and Rebecca's house (Which, also, the guys have been working on the past couple of days.)
  • Bringing cows home from the pasture
  • Bringing bales home
  • Fixing the RV, and getting it ready for the trip
  • Finishing the first quarter of school (so we can take a month off... YAY!)
  • Converting a pull behind trailer into a bunkhouse for the trip
Wow, I shouldn't have written that all down. It seems like a lot more once it is written down.

Anyway, that is why I've not been blogging much. But I'll try harder.

Ok, so, moving on.
I made this vlog, and I thought I'd share it with you all.  :)
Have a fabulous fall day everyone!

I love Thanksgiving. It does me good to take a step back, remember how blessed I am, and then to pause to thank God for it all.
It helps to have all of the things that I am most thankful for under one roof! It is tradition for our family to gather together on Thanksgiving Sunday.
We don't do much other than hang out and eat incredible food, but it's still always the best time.

I snapped a few pictures of our togetherness. I realized when I edited them that they are mostly of the babies (oops... how could I resist though?! They are so cute!!), but here they are nonetheless. :)

Lunch with a friend, cuddles with the nephews, relaxing... today was a good day.
