Day 3 - A Friend that is a Sister

Have you ever had those friends that you haven't seen in forever, but can pick up and carry on like you were never apart? We were at such a friend's house last night, and the blogging didn't happen, because we were slumber partying all night.

But, I'll get to that. Let me begin at the beginning.

We left Dodge City at 7:30 a.m. With the time change, we got an extra hour of sleep, so that was nice!

We traveled for about 6 hours, before stopping at a campground in Abilene, Texas. As we drove along, we watched the temperature climb to 33 degrees celsius. We were so excited to enjoy the heat! We found a nice, very cold swimming pool, where the kids (and Dad :) took a swim.

Of course, Ker and I had to get some sun tanning in!

Our good friend Amanda, whom we haven't seen in six years, came over to the campground with her kids Phoebe and Phillip. We were so excited to see her, and to meet her family. <3

This little guy is the sweetest!

Playground takeover.

So much to catch up on!

After having supper together, Amanda picked Ker and I up, and brought us to her house to meet her husband Joe and they were sweet enough to let us spend the night. As I already said, we were able to pick up right where we left off, chatting and sharing our hearts like sisters. We painted each other's nails, and spend most of the night catching up.
We love this girl so much, and were so excited that we finally got to see her again!!
We appreciate you and your hospitality and friendship Amanda! <3

And that was the end of Day 3!
